Abstract

Equality between men and women is recognized as one of the key issues of modern society. At international level it is given priority attention. Principle of equality gender means that men and women have equal rights, freedoms and opportunities for their implementation, as well as bear equal duties. Gender Discrimination (Gender Discrimination minority) is a violation of the principle of equality between men and women. Countering Gender Discrimination seems to be a priority for the development of international legal and national mechanisms to ensure equality sign of gender.

All international organizations acknowledge relevance gender discrimination issues. The principle of nondiscrimination is the cornerstone and the main condition for ensuring equality between the sexes in the system of international law. All international instruments are based on the full recognition of the principle of gender equality. During its existence, various UN structures have adopted a number of both general and special documents on the observance of human rights in general and on ensuring the equal rights of men and women in particular.

The main among them remains the already mentioned UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, which is a fundamental instrument in the field of protecting the rights of women, which is legally binding on all contracting parties.
