Adherence to the principles of academic integrity

According to Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education", academic integrity is a set of ethical principles and rules established by law, which should guide participants in the educational process during training, teaching and conducting scientific (creative) activities to ensure confidence in learning outcomes and / or scientific (creative) achievements.

Observance of academic integrity by pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers provides:

  • links to sources of information in the case of the use of ideas, developments, statements, information;
  • compliance with copyright and related rights legislation;
  • providing reliable information about research methods and results, sources of information used and own pedagogical (scientific-pedagogical, creative) activities;
  • control over the observance of academic integrity by students;
  • objective assessment of learning outcomes.

Violation of academic integrity in accordance with Part 4 of Art. 42 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education" is:

academic plagiarism - publication (partially or completely) of scientific (creative) results obtained by others as the results of their own research (creativity) and / or reproduction of published texts (published works of art) of other authors without indication of authorship;

self-plagiarism - publication (partially or completely) of one's own previously published scientific results as new scientific results.

The journal «Law and Innovations» are committed to publishing only original material, i.e., material that has neither been published elsewhere, nor is under review elsewhere. Manuscripts in which plagiarism or textual borrowings are found without reference to the original source are rejected by the editorial board for publication in the journal.
