PERSONAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS AS A PARADIGM OF DEVELOPMENT OF E-EDUCATION

Abstract

Problem setting. Possibilities of information technology are not fully utilized in the current stage of higher education. The next step in the development of educational facilities of the University is to use the Personal Learning Environments (PLE) as a subset of a common educational space of the University with the addition of communication means. Many universities around the world Personal Learning Environments are regarded as the main means of organizing information for the educational process. Therefore, the task of this work is to develop approaches to the formation of PLE for students of legal specialties.

Analysis of resent researches and publications. Information environment, generalized model of educational space and their features, functions and structure have been the subject of research scientists such as S. Ablameyko, J. Abeldina, R. Gurevich, C .Gurzhiy, S.Downes, M. Zhukov, A. Zakharov, R. Gilyarevsky, N.Gichenko, M. Kademiya, Yu. Caravan, M. Castells, N. Karpovich, V. Kryukov, D. Kasatkin, L. Konoshevsky, A. Konoshevsky , J. However, they are not consider:  the characteristics of the features of the educational space in terms of the requirements for the Personal Learning Environments; ways to integrate information technology into a general structure; how best to provide information and communication services within the constraints of the curriculum.

Paper objective. Study of the conceptual possibilities of Personal Learning Environments is the task of this article. Development of recommendations on the formation of the optimal structure of the content in educational space for the purpose of integration training is also a goal of the research article. It is also necessary to explore ways of representation of legal knowledge in electronic form.

Article’s main body. In the article is analyzes the concept of "Personal Learning Environments ", the conceptual features of PLE. We consider the special web-based solutions to support e-learning for the facilities academic and social integration of students. It indicates that the Law University uses modern software tools and services that allow you to create a comfortable PLE of students. It is proposed to use the ontological model for the integration of legal knowledge.

Conclusions and prospects for the development. Thus, PLE can provide a more holistic learning environment, combining the resources and contexts for learning that hitherto are separated. Within this environment, students learn how to take responsibility for training or to engage in self-education. PLE can combine internal environment education institutions with the outside worlds. Personal Learning Environments are the primary means for representing knowledge in their subject area. In the article are studies the different methods of delivery of e-learning materials. The study proposed an ontological model for the integration of legal knowledge from different sources. Also are evaluated the technological components of PLE (chat, web support, and other video services).
